UPDATE ON NEW DEFENCE REVIEW Just a quick update to yesterday's post: John Keegan adds more to the argument I made yesterday and warns about the military's shrinking ability to retain qualified personnell due to time and money shortages. In the Guardian there's a follow up report on the shortcomings kit-wise of the task force that deposed Saddam. At the MoD's site you can download the new White Paper and the report on lessons from Iraq in pdf format. I'll comment on them as soon as I have got round to reading them.
